Despite the ongoing challenges of war, neonatology and antenatal care have advanced since 2018 and continue to play a vital role in Ukraine’s healthcare system.
The advancement of neonatology and the improvement of care quality for newborns are key priorities for healthcare enhancement. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in collaboration with international partners, is diligently working to elevate the standards of neonatal and antenatal care within the country. With the backing of these partners, the Ministry has established three training centers for neonatal specialists across Ukraine and equipped regional perinatal centers with state-of-the-art technology.
In 2015, Ukraine had a population exceeding 45 million, with an average of 273,772 births annually. The provisional infant mortality rate in the United States for 2022 was recorded at 5.60 per 1,000 live births.
